    Fellow brewers

    Just a quick question please.

Is there a need to have an auto-siphon when using a fermentation bucket and bottling bucket. I normally just connect a tube and run the beer from the fermentation bucket to the bottling bucket.

Could the auto-siphon allow for less air into the liquid before transferring?

    Thanks

In my mind the main advantage of using a siphon is that you can control the amount of trub you leave behind. When using the tap you just can't seem to avoid stirring up some sediment. And no, the sediment reduces don't really work
Give a man a beer, waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and waste a lifetime!
