  • Old SodaStream Valve Type

    Hi All,

Is there anyone around Joburg area, or anywhere for that matter, that may have a SodaStream cylinder with the old pin type valve, and be willing to swop me for the new type ( or I can pay for replacement)

    One on the right...

I have been filling SS cylinders for a while and these new ones are tricky. Notwithstanding the fact that I seem to only be able to fill about 50g at a time these days and I need to eliminate possible causes of the problem.

    TIA
    Cheers,
    Lang

Can't you just do an exchange at the supermarket and ask for the old type ?

Well they are sealed at the factory I think, and it seems they aren't really circulating them anymore.

Mmmmm. I suppose I could also try ask them to look at their returned ones and then just swop out directly. But I think that will be slim takings
      Cheers,

Thanks, worth checking out the second hand places I'm sure.

I use one for the SodaStream machine and one inside the keezer for kegging (now on the outside for corrosion reasons, and just for carbonating water)
            Cheers,

Got hold of one, but Google research confirmed that I am a dufus.

Apparently as your donor tank empties, so the amount you can fill the SodaStream tank decreases. Hence the reason it "used to" fill up okay. Well this is what I am hoping anyway.
Weighed my big tank and it is indeed below the "empty" weight
              Cheers,
