  • Hydrometer and testing cylinder

Total newb but I think I need a hydrometer and a cylinder to test with. Does anyone have one for sale?

Alternatively? Do the cheap Midas ones work?

      Welcome Mark.

If you are talking about battery hydrometers?... They will measure the density, but no they are for ranges of 1.200 plus, and for brewing you need around 1.050 and more precision
      Cheers,

Get one from a local home brew store in your area, buy two, because apparently they last longer if you have backup.

        Are you Mark from Moto101?

It's already turning out to be a bottomless pit of money however I'm enjoying it... Slowly building up kit each brew but also seem to be changing kit each brew trying to get fancier and more efficient each time.

Stopped racing bikes now but got an ADV bike to keep the cravings at bay.

Hahaha yeah getting started can get expensive, but if you like beer and can't buy beer you don't have too many options. Brewing your own is an investment in your happiness, happiness doesn't come cheap. The wife and kids also prefer that you're happy I'm sure, so win win bud.

You're at the right place to learn how to make great beer. Some seriously skilled brewers on this forum with lots of great advice.

We've also sold most of our bikes and only have a 650 dual sport and a 230 left, both donkeys, so no more excitement for me, besides the beer.
