  • Second hand deal

    Hi Guys,

    Assistance with a purchase needed

I found this second hand online.
Is there an issue with this release valve?
It was not stored under pressure
    , is that an issue?

No need to store under pressure ... why would you say an issue? ....

nonetheless, I would replace the lid as Im not a fan of those safety valves

I got it! So pumped to say goodbye to bottling.

It seems like all dealers seem to push that as a key point. Neither me or the seller know much about kegging so I asked for R500 off for taking the risk with it not being pressurized.

Puts my mind at rest though considering the lids are replaceable and the pressure thing isn't an issue

Good negotiation skills tho! But+1, there shouldn't be any issues regarding pressure
          Cheers,

I live in Hout Bay but I brew at my Dads house in Plumstead (space)

The set up is abit ragged so I'm going to be cleaning everything, replacing beer lines and in the near future repaint the fridge .

Will send more pics once things start looking respectable

I gave everything a good clean last night.
Took everything apart, soaked and rinsed.

The kegs still had 4year old beer in the bottom so they got a pressure wash before hand.

I think the taps are stainless (instead of chrome plated) so that's a score.

Managed to fill a keg and 1/ 3rd. Set to 20psi at 4C and disconnected the gas lines for "safety" but I feel like it would be best to have left it on because as the temp drops from room to 4C, it will lower the pressure? Hoping it settles at 10psi after the contraction of the liquid

you can leave the gas line on, i take mine off when force carbing (30psi) but i crank it back up regularly.
i painted my keezer collar with black board paint, easy to id which tap has what
