7 days ferment and 7 days cold crash

Isn't that a bit short on fermenting time?

        • For a lager yeast 7 days does sound a little "min"

          • Yeah 7 days isn't impossible, but it is a bit short. If you have a good colony and a warmer temp it's doable, but I don't even do my ales 7 days these days. Looks like it worked though, thanks for the recipe!

            • 7 days is a bit min.
Done a lager previously in 7 days but used Mangrove Jacks M54 yeast "Californian Lager" which ferments at ale temps.

              • Vat so Toxxyc!

Simple grain bill of 8kg Pilsner and 1kg Munich Dark on a 50 liter batch, Magnum for bittering and Mandarina Bavaria for Aroma (36 IBU's in total), one of my favourite simple beers that I make.

This is my Tangerine Pilsner, brewed with Kveik Oslo and lots of Mandarina Bavaria as aroma hops.

                    • Ive never don a single hop MB. How is it when left to its own devices? I pared it with Sabro and lemon drop. But I think it was overpowered

It works really well in this style of beer to be honest, the maltiness of the Munich and the MB hops go really well together.

36IBU's is mos perfek vir n Pilsner..

The Oslo works wonders in a Pilsner/Lager style, I leave it to ferment for a week and cold crash and fine, clears nicely every time.

I will have to try this one sometime .... How much IBU's did the Magnum contribute ?

Better yet, share the recipe ?

Hey that looks good mate! Really good! 36 IBUs seem high, but I've had it in a Pils before and while it does contribute a bit of a bite, it does fit. Looks like a nice beer. What's the ABV on that? If I'm going to be brewing with that amount of malt I'll probably end up with a 6% beer, which would fit the IBUs even more perfectly.
